The Blessing

Numbers 6:22-27  is an awesome prayer to pray for self and others.

The Lord said to Moses,
“Tell Aaron and his sons, This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them:
‘The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;
The Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”’
So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.”

Notice, The Lord is invoked three times. This is a three-fold blessing–from God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit! (Compare 2 Corinthians 13:14 – May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all!”)

The Prayer

Now put your own name or the name of a loved one in this prayer and pray as the Holy Spirit leads you.

Lord God bless ________, and keep (guard, protect, attend to) _________.

Lord God, Make your face shine upon __________, and be gracious to _________.

Lord God, turn your face (life up your countenance) toward ________, and give _________ your peace (safety, well-being, health, prosperity, wholeness, completeness, tranquility).
